Professional Experience

Hans de Kruijk has 35 years experience in research, consultancy and university teaching and has extensive field experience in developing countries in South-Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. He has completed research, consultancy and advisory assignments on topics primarily focusing on poverty assessment and poverty analysis for major clients including United Nations agencies, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.

Research interests: Poverty assessment, analysis and monitoring, poverty profiles, the location of poverty, poverty mapping, measurement of living standard dimensions and poverty indicators, impact of macroeconomic policies on poverty, economic and non-economic vulnerabilities of small island developing countries.
